Ryukin acting very strange,Oranda sleeping daytime

Iv'e actually got two strange things going on in my 29 gal tank ,yesterday I noticed my 6" red cap Oranda on the bottom of the tank ,went I went closer she immediatly went to the top of the tank (as if expecting food).I've noticed this fish is very active at night ,she appears to be sleeping in the day lately.The other thing I noticed is tonight my 5" Ryukin is swimming very,very fast ,erratictly and then flipped upside down(at the top of the tank) and stayed like that a few seconds.I opened the tank ,touched him,he flipped rightways and then began his erratic wierd swimming again.My parameters in this tank are all fine ,could this be swim bladder disease and what can I do?

A goldie that is upside down definitely has swim bladder problem (or a lot of gas in the gut), but the trick is to find out what from - causes are toxins in water, infection, food problem or constipation.

The oranda's rapid erratic swimming is worrisome. When mine had swimming bladder from constipation (I presume), he wasn't swimming much. This plus the ryukin acting strange might mean something in the water - I read that sudden pH crash, high NO3 might give symptoms like yours. Both fish in the tank acting strange makes it less likely to be something simple like constipation (which tends to affect just one fish).
