I came home from work today to find my snowflake eel had died. No sign of trauma, just laying under the rockwork.

He had been alot more active as of late, swimming out in the open. That is the only noticeable difference. We checked him over and found no indications of scrapes, abbrasions or bruising. Nothing lodged in his throat. It is truly a sad mystery. :bawl:

Sorry to hear that.

Was it getting a good supply of food? I only ask because from what I understand eels are more preditory in that they wait for food to come to them usually but if it was active and moving about then maybe it was searching for food.

The food was more than plentiful. He had always eaten what I fed before. If, for some reason he didnt want it .....there were tons of crabs, snails, shrimp that could have filled the bill before starvation. His body was nicely rounded tho, did not look like he was hungry.
