i need help with the metal halide canopy i'm building. this is the supplies i think i need:

1)2 250 watt iwasaki bulbs
2) dual 250 watt mh ballast with mogul base
3) 2 12" pfo optimal reflectors
4) 2 mogul sockets (is this the same as the mogul base?) :?
5)fan
6) 2 48" actinic bulbs ( i'll probably buy a dual bulb hood and retrofit it)


Hows that sound? any ideas?
this is for my 120 gal aquarium 48"x24"x24"
i am definitely not a electrician, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

It all looks good. For the VHO'S i would go with the ice cap 2 x 48" retro kit. It has everything you need to put actinics in the hood. As far as MH bulbs go I prefer the look of the AB 10k to the Iwasaki's but that is just my opinion. The Saki's are a tad to yellow for my taste. The AB's are nice and white.

I dont think I have seen a dual bulb VHO hood. Im guessing your talking about those perfecto double bulb plastic things. If this is the case then those are just NO florecents and you wont get much intensity out of them in compairson to the VHO bulbs.
