I received an orange fromia star from LiveAquaria.com yesterday. I drip-acclimated him for 5 hours, and let him in the tank.

When I did that, all 5 arms started to curl. Then slowly they all moved back down.

This morning I looked inside the tank. It's on the bottom, upside-down, with the tip of one arm on a piece of LR. A tiny orange nub from one arm is lying right next to him.

There is nothing else in the tank except a false percula clown, a cleaner shrimp, a peppermint shrimp, and 6 very tiny blue-let hermits.

Do I just wait and see what happens? If one leg weren't attached I'd try righting him.

The cool things about star fish is that if you have gloves and don't contaminate your tank by puting your hands in it, you can flip him over and see if he walks around or stays still. Also, those startfish are known to stay still for a couple of days after acclimation. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOUR NITRATE LEVELS AND COPPER ARE VERY LOW PREFERRABLY 0PPM.
