I have 2 things that I do to save on cost.

1. I bought one of those 1 gallon plastic hex tank all in one kits and a few mature snails. Put a live plant in there and there you go, homemade snail farm. Great for those who have puffers or clown loaches. See pic

2. I ordered a sea monkey kit, great for kids, even better for a live brine shrimp source. No need to make one of those messy pop bottle homejobbies when you can get the real thing. Just add an air hose to it and your all set. The powder solution they supply with it makes the eggs hatch instantly. I added some more for good measure. See pic

brine shrimp

I'm gonna try an experiment over the holidays. In my basement I found a can of 15 year old Brine shrimp eggs. I'm going to try hatching them, just to see how long those eggs survive! I love experimenting, especially when its basically free.

wat fish actually eat snails?

Correct me if I'm wrong, largely Loaches and Puffers.
I know my ClownLoaches enjoy the odd snail anyway. They are bottom scavengers, so will always find them.

would kuhli loachs and bolivian rams eat them?
Do they dig around everywhere? kind look like thier being nosey?
then they probley will.

Our YoYo loaches do, buggers keep messin with the plants lol
but I love em.
