Does anyone in Southern California know where to get Southdown sand from. We've been looking in hardware stores and can't find any. i know ive read that it is not very available on the west coast, anybody had any luck finding it?
Its also a seasonal item that might be extremly hard to find this time of year even in the north east where its more prevelent. The sand itself is marketed toward landscaping and children's playbox's so its kind of a spring/summer deal.
Other names that its sold under are Old Castle and Yardright.
I just found a skid in Home Depot here in Lancaster, PA, but I guess that doesn't help you out much...I bought 200lbs. I didin't need any but from reading all these forums I just felt I had to buy it
weve looked around everywhere and still no luck. people at home depot say theyve never even heard of the stuff. i guess they cant special order it either cuzz they dont carry any products by yard right/southdown. any suggestions on what we might do until we are able to find the stuff?
im in norcal and i couldnt find southdown at all and i looked everywhere. It sucks to have to cave in and buy 15lbs for 20$ but i did and it beats driving around wasting gas looking for southdown/yardright whatever its name is this week. Petco has good deals on aragonite and i duno if you have a Superpets down there but their prices are good as well. Chances are you wont find southdown in cali.
ya, it seems to be that way. i never thought about the wasted gas while trying to find the stuff. i guess buying from the lfs is the best thing to do. thanks
