Starting out - 27 gallon fish combinations

Hi! I'm currently in the research stage and seeing really conflicting information about the amount of space fish need.

Would a group of Red Cherry Shrimp, Guppies and a Clown Pleco (or different breed small pleco) work in a 27 gallon tank?

The fish combination is okay depending on the numbers however, if you get pairs of guppies, you will be inundated with Guppy fry which will quickly overstock the tank. I recommend you only get male Guppies unless you are wanting babies.
As for the Pleco, clown plecos need wood in their diet so unless you plan on keeping natural wood in your tank, you may be better off with a bristlenose Pleco. There are more tank raised variants of bristlenose that are well adapted to your local waters.
