I have 2 damation mollies in my tank and unless there are female bettas in the tank they are "attached at the hip" so to speak. If I add the female bettas then you will find the female hiding in a corner alot and the male out "cruising". I guess my question is this: is he stressing out the female betta's by chasig them and such trying to impress his "mate"? I know, I know, but I have looked at every thing in the tank and I may be grasping at straws but I can't believe that all 12 of the betta's (6 of them even treated with bettamax) just died with no outside help.

Males and Females don't go together until their ready to mate, and if they don't mate you take them back out.

Never let them stay together, Because they'll fight and kill eachother.

My dalmation mollies are always buddy buddy. I don't understand your response. :? If your talking about the betta's I don't even put the males and females together. It's the male dalmation and the female betta's that have me concerned.

Contrary to popular opinion, Mollies are not the greatest community fish. The males can be quite aggressive, especially toward conspecifics, and sometimes even stake out a territory that they'll defend.

I can't say for sure that it was your male Molly who is causing the deaths among your female Bettas but it certainly isn't outside the realm of possibility. Did you buy all of your female Bettas at the same time? If so then it is conceivable that they all had problems when you got them. And then there's the old mantra...what are your water parameters??
