Hey every1, just a question on my stock, I currently got a 38gallon long tank stocked with 4 black phantom tetras(gonna add 2more) 6 harlequin rasboras, 6 sterbai corys and 2 dwarf gouramis along with about 10 red cherry shrimp, do u think I could add another school because it still looks kinda empty. Thanks for any replies :)

I think you still have room. I'd probably put an angelfish in there but I don't know how that'd work out with the shrimp.

I was gonna get an angelfish in the beginning but my tank is only 15inch tall, I thought I'd need more height for them?? I was thinking about another school of tetras do u think that would be ok?

I have to agree about the 15" tall being a little short for angels, they get so tall with their fins!, but I also agree you should be able to put another school of tetras in. I just added some black neons and flame von rios to my 55 and I really like the von rios. Oddly enough they went right to my rams and they all seem to get along great! Good luck.

Yeah I thought it was too short, maybe when I get my 125 or 150g :) I'm gonna go with a school of tetras I think, not sure what ones yet tho. I've never seen or even heard of the flame von rios I'm gonna look them up now :) thank you.

Here's a pic of my quite empty looking tank lol definitely needs some more fish swimming round :)

What are the dimensions of your tank? It almost looks like a 40 long. You have plenty of room left in that tank(y)

I think you'd be fine with an angel or two in there personally, just don't get a veiltail or superveil. I think just adding another school would still make the tank lacking for a centerpiece.

that tank looks alot bigger than 38 gallons.

If I had a dollar for every person that said that I would have a bigger tank lol :)

**** wish I read this post before I left for the fish shop, nevermind I'm happy :) plus I have my dwarf gourami as my centerpiece, I'll try get a pic of him he's cool and the boss of the tank lol

Hello, I've been to my Lfs and picked up 8 cardinal tetras, they've settled in well and are all busy exploring their new home :)

Thanks for the replies everyone I appreciate it, always want to make sure what I'm doing/going to do will be ok for my fish. :fish2::dance::fish2:

Your tank size falls somewhere between a 33 long and a 40 long. Can't find a standard size with those dimensions. Very unique, I like the size. I used to have 33 longs for breeding tanks, until they got to expensive.

the Great thing about your tank is that is has a larger footprint compared to tanks of similar volume capacity.
(I believe your tank is actually a 40 gallon LONG looking at your dimensions)

Anyways, you could probably get away with extra fish with minimal impact.

Good luck - you tank looks Great!
