Tap water to top off tank water.

Hi. I have a 20 gallon long aquarium with three tetras. Do any of you use plain tap water to top off your tank water? It’s municipal water. I always add a chlorine neutralizer and the correct temperature.

It all depends on what fish you are keeping and what the water parameters are of your tap water. Many municipalities now use Chloramine instead of chlorine so make sure your dechlorinator also treats chloramine if that's what your municipality is using.

The tap waters ph is 7 so that’s good. I do add a dechlorinator and at proper temperature. Three tetras.
