Tetra safe start vs API quick start

Hello! I am trying to get my new tank situated and I was told to try these products. Does anyone know if they are the same thing or if they could all be useful to use together? Thank you!

They are pretty much the same stuff. The tetra one was the first to the market, and of the 2 it's probably the better product.

However. Most of these products do nothing except part you with your money. At best they will shorten the time to cycle an aquarium from several months to several weeks, but forums like these are littered with stories that they do nothing at all. I've used a similar product called Dr Tims One and Only to some benefit. One and Only was developed by the same guy (Dr Tim Hovanec) as Tetra Safestart and is considered as an upgrade on his earlier product. @Andy Sager recommends Fritz products. Its your money. Using them won't hurt anything, but dont expect miracles.
