Greetings all. I am leaving the country for a week. I usually have help. But I am afraid I may not have it this time : ( My fish... I have a 55 gallon tank and need to know the BEST way they get fed. Auto feeders, the ones that dissolve, etc... Please offer any suggestions, products, experience etc. Thank you so much!

If your fish have been well fed, they can go a week without feeding. If they are carnivores that may eat each other, you have a different problem.
If you go the first route, do a little extra feeding the week prior to you leaving and a good water change the day before leaving and keep the lights off while you are away. Ambient lighting is fine but direct lighting will cause the fish to look for food. Darkness will let the fish sleep more while you are away.
If you feeding more aggressive fish, there are electronic feeders that can be filled with flakes or pellets and can be set to feed at certain times. Here's a list of recommended ones: We Found The Best Automatic Fish Feeder For Any Aquarium
Those in the tank auto feeder blocks only really dissolve in acidic water. If you don't have that, the blocks don't melt and the food stays inside them. :^s

Hope this helps. (y)
