There is a fungus among us

I I have a 20 gallon acrylic tank that has been set up for a month. Last night I noticed that one of the glow light tetras had a fuzzy fungus on his face. We medicated the tank and this morning the fungus had cleared up. How long should I leave the cartridge out of the filter to make sure the fungus is completely gone. I also will do a 25 percent water change. Thanks in advance for the help.

I would let is run several days.

Once that time is up, I would recommend a couple of 50% partial water changes within a few days, and running carbon to remove any other meds that might remain.
