My current water parameters are:
Total hardness= 25-50ppm (1.5-2.8dH) Soft
Alkalinity/buffering capacity=~100ppm (5.6kH) Low
pH 7.5
Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate=40 (before water change)
My question is, would you worry about these parameters. I would like to keep So. American fish that typically like soft slightly acidic water. I have read in more than one article that pH is of little concern so long as it isn't at an extreme, and any change is not done quickly.
What is this forum's thoughts on this.
