i have this baby sh-- green coralline growing ALL OVER my tank. It grows really fast and I cant stop it. I know I want coralline, but I just wish it was the red/pink/purple species. How can I slow down the growth. This is in a 12gal nano. I dont add anything to my water, just water changes every other week and buffer when needed, not much at all.

Just like a farmer who wants to grow corn, you have to put some seeds of the color you want in the tank. Borrow a piece of someone's live rock that has the color you want and scrape the spores in front of a powerhead to distribute them around the tank. Hopefully, the colors you want will outcompete the green coralline.

I have purples' and red coralline on my LR. This color (green) only seems to be growing on my glass. This green stuff has grown over the purple I had growing on the back of my tank as well. I wonder is this type has found something in my water that it likes more than the purples and reds. :?

thanks Mantis
ps. you need some pics of your shrimp posted. I too am fascinated my the mantis. I am going to turn my nano into a mantis tank once I get my 100gal reef up and running.
