I have read alot about feeding your fishes veggies and since I still new at this could you tell me what and how to give veggies to my little buddies? I have 4 rosy barbs, 2 cherry barbs, 1 platy, 2 guppies and 1 otto. I currently just feed flakes and just started with the algae waffers. Should I give them peas, cucumbers ? If so, could you explain the procedure on how to prepare them or what do I do? Do you give them thawed peas, cooked or just thawed. Cucumbers, just peel the cuke and put a slice in or what? I'm confused :?

This is easy!
~peas: use frozen ones, nuke, peel, chop (if the fish are little such as bettas; however, my tetras, Mollies and cories do just fine without chopping) and serve
~zucchini: peel, slice, attach to a rock or aquarium clip and serve
~cucumber: see zucchini
~lettuce, or other leafy green: tear off leaf, rise well, attach to a rock or aquarium clip and serve
Have fun!

Thanks for the info Menagerie but another question....how long do you nuke the peas? Sorry but I'm a female and like to have instructions...ha ha :D :D

....bzuh?

I always boil my cucumber and zucchini so that I don't have to replace it every time one of my pleco royalty comes by and bulldozes into it rather than being a dainty eater. Boiling = sinks. :)

If you are just doing a few peas, 10 to 15 seconds should be fine. I never boil the other veggies, just peel and serve!

Interesting fact:

Frozen vegetables are blanched before the freezing process by the companies who pack them.
