What is the typical way to transfer 55 gallons of ro/di water from your LFS to your home? or most effective way?

hmmm, I would use 5 gallo buckets, 11 of them, actually, I'd use these 15g plastic drums I have, but that might not be something you can get. FWIW, when I was hauling water I used 7g containers from the sporting goods section of WalMart used for carrying water into the woods or on a boat etc...called an Aquatainer.

You probably put some muscle on carring all that water around . I bet you are loving your RO/DI filter now, huh?

Unless you've had to haul water around, you just can't know how much!! Heck, I didn't realize how much, till I got it, and I used to have one when I lived in the city and had the larger tank, LOL.

RO/DI system

I live in a very rural area the "city" water is bad. I rent my RO system. That way I always have good water for drinking, cooking and water changes. It cost me $25 a month, but the company maintains the system and does all the filter changes. System keeps a continous supply of RO water in a 3 gal reserve tank.

Before I got my RO/DI, I took a 20G rubbermaid with a tight lid. I moved the water from the source to my car in 5G buckets and poured it in. When I got home I syphoned the water from the 20G rubbermaid back into 5 gallon buckets and made the haul to my basement. Likely not the most efficient way but I only did it four times before I got an RO/DI, so some good came out of it LoL

Wow..sounds like alot of work. I have several 5gallon jugs that I fill up, toss in the back of my truck. From there I have a 5 gallon jug under the tank that has an air hose running from it to the sump. Tie a knot in the hose and you have a home made top off system. I just occationally fill up the jug under the tank. I am going to do a DIY thread on how to set it up...very easy.
