I have a ten gallon freshwater tank that has been up and running for a couple years now. Algae had never been much of a problem for me as i have several plants that constantly attempt to take over my tank. All the usual sorts of green and brown algae appear but recently I noticed an unusual "clump" of algae resting on the bottom of the tank. Does anyone know what this is? It may just be that a bunch of typical green hair algae decided to grow from one spot, but I've never seen anything like this...
The little whitish spots in the clump are a couple of snails crawling around.
Thanks for any ideas!
