when curing rock

when curign rock and cycleing the tank should i put the lgith on or off on the tank?

Some say turn the light off totally, others say run full light period, I say run a reduced photo period. This way the life on the rock that needs light will get some but you wont have so much light that you cause algae problems.

Shoot for 6 hours a day for starts.

SHOULD I CYCLE THE TANK WITH SOME CHEAP HARDY FISH ? sorrya bout the caps if so what do u recomend

when curing live rock you have no need to cycle.

and you should not cycle with fish as that is just cruel. A few raw shrimp will sufice just fine for the cycle. But like I said you dont need to use anything if your using uncured rock as the curing process itself will be enough to cause the cycle.

touchy subjetc i guess lol when do i put ssnails and stff in on soem of my rock theres liek some whiteish stuff kinda looks like a spider web?

dont add any thing that is living to yoru tank until the ammonia and nitrite are 0.00 on your test kit. Test your water every few days so you can watch the livels rise and then fall.

I belive you will find some other references to spider web looking items if you search. I dont recall the thread right now but i know i saw it talk about either this week or last week.
