I just noticed a bunch of white "spots" on the front glass of my tank. I noticed a few of them moving around on the glass the other night. They just kindaa slide across the glass. They are extremely small so I can't get a pic that would come out. They are white and i think there is a little black in them also. I wanna say they are only about a mil. long. Any ideas??

Hmmm, they didn't look like any of the pics, but maybe they are just small right now. Some of them move, while others don't. I haven't seen them in the water column yet, just on the glass. I need to scrape the front of my tank but I wanted to see what these guys were first. Thanks for the reply

I have these i my tank too. Don't look like the pods pics either. Mine are about the size of a small grain of salt and seem to have a short 'tail'. They scoot jerkily around the glass like mad things and a few move in the water column but stay close to the glass. Quite interesting to watch really!! They remind me of newly hatched artemia but move in a very different way. :?

I recently had a similar post. Are they white, 2 antennae, small tail? If so they are copepods. Someone, I can't remember who, posted a pic of these pods with their scientific name. Try searching for the topic "copepods??" to see the pic posted in response to my question.
