Worm like creature

I currently have a tank that is being cycled before I add some fish. I purchased two plants and added them today. I noted a worm like creature coming out of one of the plants. Photos attached. Does anybody perhaps know what it is? Can it stay in the tank?

I'm not 100% positive from your pics but it looks like a leech to me. They are a common hitchhiker on plants. I would remove it the next time you see it.
