55 Gallon Oscar Tankmates?

My Oscar tank. I want to get a tankmate for him. I was thinking a convict or 2. Maybe blood parrot or severum. Or maybe a discus or 2. Suggestions?

I wouldn't put any other fish in with your Oscar, your good with the 1 and it would probably be best if kept by itself. Just my opinion.

As far as cichlids go I'd stick to just the Oscar, due to deteriorating water quality when the fish is 12-14". If your looking for some addition movement I'd add a school of fish such as giant danios, as this won't have a huge impact on the bioload. Here is one of my males who was 14.1", trust me the 55g won't look so empty for long.

I'd personally keep it alone but I mean u could add a little school of dithers for movement but if u want the extra work, go ahead.
