Canister filter question

Hey I'm looking to get a canister filter for a 125 gallon. I was just wondering what you guys thought the best bio and mechanical filter material are?

I've heard nylon pot scrubbers are a cheap bio material. Any thoughts?

Best bio media would be marine pure, matrix, or substrate pro.
But they are expensive.

I have heard people use pot scrubbers and have been successful. I can't comment since ive never used them. I know their cheap to buy though.

I run matrix and common filter floss in my sun sun (125 gallon tank).
