Cichlid substrate

I have Carib sea's cichlid substrate. It says it's instant cycling, does anybody know how instant, and how well it actually cycles the tank. Should I put the sand in, and let my filters run for a while before introducing the fish?

Ya I know that, I mean have you ever used it? Like, I can put the sand in, than drop my fish in?

I.wouldn't trust it. They make live sand for salty tanks as well and those don't cycle immediately. I would still try to cycle and if everything is good then there you go. I would rather be sage than sorry imo

I've used it, and no it doesn't perform an instant cycle. I'm not sure it even sped up the cycle. Plus it took a long ime or the water to settle and clear up. I like the look of it, but hey sell it without the added stuff so you can rinse it.
