Discus require much higher temps that goldfish. Goldfish are big polluters. Discus require the most pristine of water.

Discus and Goldfish are definitly not suitable being in the same tank.As BrianNY said they just cannot be together because goldfish produce too much waste and are not suitable to the high temps needed by discus.
