So I lucked up. I was given a 30g tank by a friend who wanted it gone. So my dream of setting up my 55g as a cichlid tank is gonna happen!!! Currently making the switch. I took some of my community fish back to LFS, got some cichlids to put in the 55! Pictures to follow!

So it's all done! My 'new' 55g inhabitants include

3 yellow labs
3 red zebra peacocks
2 chilotilapua rhoadesii
1 kenyi (plan on getting more maybe)
1 electric blue johanni
2 albino BN pleco's (one is a long fin)

I originally had 3 lights on this tank as this was a planted community before the change, and of course 2 of the lights had to go on the 30g, so I do plan on getting another light to even the light out, so the one light is just temporary. Another thing that is temporary are the terra cotta pots; as soon as I can get my hands on more rocks they will be gone.

So now that I have entered into this new part of the hobby, I have no idea about stocking and all and could use all the help I could get! I talked to LFS and they recommended 14-15 fish would be max recommended stocking level. What are your opinions?

It was like that when I bought it. I was in a hurry and didn't realize it till I got it home and out.
