Keeping a firemouth with a convict

I have a 55 gallon tank with a firemouth and a convict. The firemouth is almost fully grown but the convict is juvenile. Will these two fish fight? Right now they don't usually fight, but the convict is occasionally chased off by the firemouth. Will this get worse? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I dont know much about chiclids but i would suspect yes. They will fight.

Once the convict gets bigger he will most likely fight back against the firemouth.

IME they should be fine when the con gets a bit bigger, although if it's a male Con the tables will be turned a bit! Maybe get a couple of other cichlids such as a Rainbow and Blue Acara, which will push the tank limits a bit but spread out the aggression.
