oscars pattern longevity

my oscar has really pretty patterns on his fins. i was wondering if this pattern stays with them as they get big. also does the marble pattern stay with them???

The patterns will always be there whether you can see them or not. Many fish have the ability to change the intesity of both patterns and colors. This is a means of communication. The bright colors of the juvenile however do seem to stretch as they get bigger making it less intense in the adult.
