Hi,
I know shame on me, but water changes are infamously difficult now. I don't seem to have the time like used to. In doing so, I finally got around to it this last weekend. I noticed a large tissue enveloping the left eye of my salvini. Cloudiness has set in today, and I really not want her to lose her eye. It's only unilateral at this point. I know I didn't cause abrasion during the water change, nor did I pick up any fish. Se did however, have a tendency to be spontaneous against my other cichlid and fly into objects glass etc. I did the water change at 50% and put an extra 55 filter (dunno gph). I did some test and nitrates are high, can't find a way to decrease them, even after the water change. Nitrites are at 0, ph good, alkalinity good, chlorine good. I'm treating the tank with melafix and aquarium salt. I don't know if its necessary because it could be a lasseration or pop eye.
