Hello all, im getting ready to move my SA cichlids from a 40b to a 75, i currently have them in black gravel but was thinking of re-doing it to sand instead. Is this a better idea or not worth the hassle? Do they dig much, if at all?

Current stock is a green terror, gold severum, blue acara and a firemouth.

IMO, small grain gravel, with natural color tones makes the best aquarium substrate. It seems that "Sand" is all the rage now, but sand has it's own set of problems. Severe damage to power filters & below surface dead / gas pockets are on that list.
I'll be the first to admit that some sand included aquascapes I've seen were beautiful, but I'm sticking to traditional gravel substates.
