well this hasnt started yet. i gotta get the tank, paint it, set it up, then cycle, then transfer fish from other tank...

You can never research too much lol. I learned that time and time again, after I got back into the hobby.

I used cichlid sand but if I had it to do over (I will soon enough) I would use Tahitian moon.

Anyone got a picture of their tank with this dark sand? I'd really like to see what it looks like.

I have a pretty thin black sand, less than 1 inch...I plan on adding more soonish, but possibly making a mix of this and white (mostly black)

I have white sand and I like it...one thing to consider is that the white sand will get discolored...mine first got a bit green but the shrimp and MTS have cleaned it up but still....everything that is not white shows up on the bottom which to some is unsightly.
