water cloudy

Hey

Okay I changed filter cartridge, did water change, vacuumed placed stress coat in and my water is still cloudy. Could my filter be going? It seems to be flowing though. Should I put stress tyme or api water clarifer in? This never happened before. Usually it clears right up.

What type of filter do you have. If it only has one cartridge, you have lost most of your BB and the tank could be going through a mini-cycle...

I have a tetra whisper filter for a 35 gallon tank. I have the tank a bit over stocked but I keep it clean. I even added stress tyme and its still cloudy. This is frustrating like I said usually I put the tyme in and it clears right up

How long has the tank been up and running for?

Like Ian says you're maybe going through a mini cycle after removing your cartridge. I usually wash my cartridges out with used tank water and only replace when falling apart. Are you parameters ok?

Is it like a cloudy white or cloudy and greenish?

Cloudy white. It seems to be clearing up. Ordered an api master test kit. Should be here in 2 days

It would be a mini cycle, it will clear more than likely in the next few days
