Ready mixed Salt Water

Hi,

Could anybody tell us if ready mixed salt water has a "best before" date. We buy 25ltrs at a time to do water changes in our 55 ltr Nano tank but obviously its not all used at once. Does it actually keep ok?

It's okay, just keep it airated and at a reasonable temp, and It should be okay,
What keeps you from mixing your own?

Hi,

Thank-you for your reply. We are quite new to this, got the (established) tank about a month ago and will certainly be mixing our own in time, just atm while the house is a bit upside down (new kitchen) we are buying it so we can carry on with the regular water changes.

It is more then likely artificial saltwater so nothing else in it to spoil or dei so you should be good storing it. Bring it up to temp. before doing a (PWC)partial water change...
