I am about to have to go out of town for 3 to 4 days. I was wondering if it would be best to leave my aquarium light on or off? It is a 96 gal. bow front tank with a yellow tang, tomato clown, percula clown, spotted hawkfish, firefish, and 5 damsels. I also have some corals including some button polyps, leather tree coral(i think), and a shroom. I realize that the best option would be to invest in a timer for the lights, but at this point I have not yet invested in such a thing.

With a 96g tank, wouldn't you rather have a timer anyway? They are only about $10, or $20 for a fancy one.

Well, I have only been in to saltwater aquariums for 2 months. I will buy a timer, but for now, I do not have one. So for now, is it better to leave the light on or off?

if you have no choice at all I would leave them off.

4 days of light and you'll probably have a ton of algea.

Personally I'd buy the timer before I'd leave for 3 or 4 days.

Off, or you'll come home to some really freaked out fish after 96 hours of daytime...after all you would be freaked out too! ; )
