Bad asterina starfish?

I found this little guy hanging out in one of my zoa colonies all day yesterday. It didnt seem to be hurting any of them as they were all still open. Possible zoa eater?

There isn't much way to prove it. I would just keep an eye on things.

It looks like one but I don't think they eat coral but I'm not 100%. They were in my tank but i haven't seen them in a while. Most people just think they look bad like nuisance snails that come on fresh water plants.

Most people don't think they are a nuisance, just fun shy as some go postal on soft coral...mainly zoas. There have been established colonies in tanks for years going with no issues then attack zoas without warning. The best you can do is keep an eye on them as they are normally not an issue.

Yah Ive had the harmless ones in the past but they mainly stayed on the tank walls. Ive heard the horror stories on past threads and I just didnt want my tank to become one of them.

They will roam all over, you just notice them more on the walls. They come in several colors, but none seem to go after coral more than others.

I have hundreds in my tank and never have any issues. They are harmless.
