I have a Blue Line 55 HD that has a very annoying high pitch whine. It can vary in intensity. Anyone else? Is there a cure?

It shouldn't make that sort of noise. All the Blueline pumps I've used have been very quiet. Check the impeller chamber to be sure there isn't anything in there that shouldn't be. Also check the cooling fan on the back of the motor for trash/obstructions. These pumps come with an 18month warranty...you should be able to get the pump replaced.

I think different people have different ideas of quiet and loud. I got a Blue Line HD pump and thought that it had a hum to it that was too loud. I then got a Custom Sealife Velocity pump and it's silent to me. It does, however, add noticable heat to the water.
