Hello all,
I just set up a 30gal reef. I've got 2 cleaner shrimp, a brittle star, an emerald crab and a handful of hermit crabs.

I'd like to add something that will sift the sand a little bit, and something that will clean my glass. Any ideas?
Also, must be reef compatable!:D

Try maybe 6-8 nassarius snails for the sand and 3-5 astrea for the rock and glass. Keep some extra shells in there for the hermits. Just keep in mind that the hermits may still go after the snails for a new shell seeing as moving shells are easier to find.

You can also look at cerith and margarita snails for the rock/glass.

A goby would be good for sifting sand also. I have an orange-spotted goby that keeps my sand very clean.

I have a thing against turbos....They are big and destructive. Any coral and loose pieces of rock will get knocked over by them climbing on and around it. They don't do a very good job with the rock and glass either IMO. Go for astrea or trochus, and as roka suggested, cerith and margarita.
