I have this encrusting black sponge forming around my button polyp. I don't want it to take over all of my rock. So far it's isolated on this frag plug. I'm thinking about just moving the plug to the substrate so it can't spread further because the sponge is good correct? But I don't want it to choke out my polyps. Could I drag them off to save them??? Please give me your opinions!!!! And thank you for the advice in advance!!!

I wouldn't count on the sponge growing over everything. This type of sponge doesn't normally accomplish this. I would however have some concern about it smothering the zoas that it is on the plug with as I have seen this occur. If you simply want to remove the sponge it can be done without issue.
