I'm looking for opinions regarding flow in my 58gal reef tank. I have four JBJ powerheads, each of which moves about 290gph at peak. I've set them at the four corners of the tank and run them all the time. I'm wondering if I should make use of the fancy timer settings on my digital power strip to alternate the flows. I can set it so that two come on at one time, then the other two when the first set is off, and repeat.

Is it better to alternate flows in this manner, or to have them all go at once? Thoughts?

Thanks!
Jason

Some people like to use wave makers in their tanks. This provides a more natural enviornment for your fish friends. IMO I would just aim all the PHs into the middle of the tank to create a lot of random currents. It's up to you though.

I agree with dragonforce. Most timers only have 5-15 minute intervals on them. Unless you want to purchase a wavemaker just point them to the middle.
