I was considering a Reef Octopus Classic 200INT 8” Internal Protein Skimmer for a 90 gallon reef. Is this overkill, or not enough? Also, when it says 8", does it mean height or diameter? I'm curious what size of sump this will need. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

I had this on the getting started thread, but no dice.

I have an ASM-G1 on my 90 gal reef. It has been on this tank for almost 4 years. "Set it and forget it" kind of skimmer. Runs about $250 on aquacave.com.

8" is the diameter of the reaction chamber. I wouldn't say it's overkill, but It's a good skimmer for you.

Thanks a lot. Will have to be a little choosy on the sump to fit this and have a refugium
