I am having a nasty case of green algae. It is killing everything. I've done a 100% twice, but it comes back fast. I have an oversized Emperor filter,a cyclone skimmer, and 2 under gravel filters. Is there a product i can add (sans fish) to the water to do a blizt on it? I prefer an organic solution, but at this point, I'm going nuts.

BTW- It's an 80 gal Saltwater tank.

Thansk for any help.

WELCOME TO AA!!!

Is it hair algae? Can you get a pic?
What/how much/how often do you feed?
What is your lighting cycle? How old are your lights and what kind?
Any chance you can ditch the under gravel filters?
I like to take care of as many problems, like algae blooms, as naturally as possible, otherwise you are just putting a band aid over the problem and it will continue to come back.
If you update "my info" with detail, like tank size/equipment/critters, that will help us help you.

Something is fueling the algea. Most likely your under gravel filter system. But Mrs Hara gave you a pretty good list there.
