Hermit out of shell (pics)

I was just looking at my tank and was shocked to see a hermit without a shell. He was getting pretty close to a hitchiker crab so after I scared the crab away I got my camera. Pics aren't the greatest, sorry.
After I took the pictures I placed an empty shell next to him and he climbed right in.
I'm thinking he probably did it on a dare and after he was out of his shell all of his "friends" took it and ran... :lol:

Maybe he just molted and was finding his way to a new shell. Nice shots! He's a lucky crab that you were there and he's now not crab chow. :wink:
 
lol, I always wondered what a hermit looked like without it's shell.

I had a "land" hermit crab a while back and it did the same thing, it was the ugliest thing I have ever seen lol. I was hoping sw hermits didn't look and act the smae when they did it...
