HOB in a sump/refugium?

I have new in box Aquatech 20-40 h.o.b. in the closet. Would adding it to the first chamber of the sump before it reaches the skimmer and refugium be beneficial to me or just a waste of power? What about adding it to the return pump chamber after the skimmer and refugium?

Thoughts? I forgot I even had this stashed away.....I even think I got it free a year or so ago

if you want mechanical filtration then you can use filter floss or a filter sock and if you want some chemical filtration get a carbon/ phosphate reator, they will do a better job and you'll be happier with the end results
