I just got back from a 5 weeks vacation. I was so worried my tank would be in a mess that I bought myself an IP camera before I left. Had it set up facing my tank so that I could monitor it over the internet from abroad.

I could see when it required maintenance and whether the skimmer needs emptying, etc. I would then let my neighbor know what needs doing and he would drop it to perform the tasks. It really gave me a peace of mind. So I would recommend anyone who is nervous when going away to use an IP camera.

Who needs a neighbor when they have their own personal droid to take care of the tank while on a 5 week vacation, LOL.

I've always heard europeans get much more vacation time than we americans do. They have their priorities straight. I love the cam idea. I'm leaving for a 10 day trip in a couple weeks. I wouldn't mind having one so I can check up on things.

Yes, we do get a few more days than the Americans :D

I had a Panasonic cam that I can remotely pan and tilt the lens. Great product!
