I have a 55g reef.. I was faced with the need to completely re-lamp my coralife 4x65w PC fixture because it was time to do so and I opted to buy 2 coralife T5 fixtures instead.. one is a 36" 42 watt and the other is a 30" 36 watt. They each have one 10k and one Actinic bulb.

My xenia, zoos and mushrooms don't seem to have any problem with the new lighting.. it seems a lot more blue than the pc's and I'm told this is to be expected. I just need to know if I need more wattage.. next coral to be added is an open brain that someone is giving me.

Thanks for the help!

I'm not too sure on the Watts, but you might experience an algae bloom within the first month or so, just be aware. I love my T5s, but I have a FOWLR. The blue comes from the actinic bulb, looks really nice.
