Hey guys! So this is my 9 month old reef tank. I never made a "build" thread so i thought i would just make an "update" thread instead. A little background about myself, I'm only 17 and a senior in high school so this is the best I've done by myself so far. I'm still planning in the future to add 1 or 2 more nano fish and more corals so any suggestions are appreciated. Here are some pictures of the tank including most of the corals and the fish mates.

Looks like its doing well.

1. What are you using for filtration?
2. Id suggest ALOT more rock and more flow.
3. Those blue zoas are awesome.

Thanks! Honestly, I don't really have anything for filtration. I did have a hob filter but was getting a lot of algae growth. Took that off and kinda added more lr. Although, I made my own protein skimmer (doesn't make a big impact but does something) and do 10% wc every week. So far my parameters are set. For the flow that's true. I'm probably going to get another maxi jet 1200 soon.

Anyone with suggestions in what kind of coral I should get? I'm more of a Lps/Softie kind of person. I like brain corals and stuff but know nothing about them.

I would suggest more live rock as well. Also possibly a blue or black background. For more flow I would recommend hydor koralias.

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I'm definitely getting more live rock soon. I had a dark blue background but every time I were to use my mag float to clean off the algae on the back the background would rip. So I decided to just take it all off. Might paint it?

I painted one Royal Blue using rustoleum oil based paint and a roller. I will be painting my 130 Gallon using rustoleum oil based black!!
