My metal halide bulb is making a high pitched noise when I turned it on today. It is a coralvue 250w 20k bulb. The color is good and everything so I don't know why it is squealing. Anyone know why?

Thanks,
Josh

thats really wiered, make sure the wattage of the bulb matches the wattage of your ballast. and if it keeps doin thing bring it back to the store , it shouldnt do this.

In most electronics when you hear a "squeeling" sound it means a capacitor is going to go soon. If your light does die on you, go to a local electronics repair shop and it can be fixed for about $10-20 dollars, and in about 10 minutes.
