Thought I'ld post my new build with my first DIY 29 gallon sump. Everything is running good so far and my sump has not fallen apart. I have 50 lbs base rock and 100 lbs live rock.

My sump has sand and base rock in first chamber. I'm going to add more base, live rock, microsock and algae in first chamber. I have a 150swc skimmer in second chamber and mag 9 in last chamber. I'm receiving my 8 X 54 Nova extreme Pro Light tomorrow.

Any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

No not yet but I have a lunare wrasse that I'm not sure if I'm going to keep because it's eating my crabs.

I have acouple mushroom corals, a hammer coral, Rainbow ricordea, mushroom ricordea and some zoos.

I want to add a couple more fish and a lot of corals.

Has anyone tried the cocktail shrimp method to speed up cycle? If so how many do I use? How long do I leave them in tank?

the shrimp method is a slower way of cycling. a faster way is by adding pure ammonia to it. all you need for a 90g is about 1 ml of it to get to 4ppm of ammonia and small ammounts to maintain it

Ok I'll just try and be patient then..
