I am starting up a salt water aquarium. It is a 44 gal pentagon tank. I have 2 spaces for lights on the top. They can only be 18 3/4 " x 4 ". The bulbs that are in the lights I have are only 15 watts. I want an anenome with a clown fish, but I am told I have to have at least 3 watts per gallon. So this would make me needing 132 watts. Any ideas?

Thanks

IMO, 3 wpg is not enough for most anemone. The best way to accomplish your lighting needs will be with a metal halide pendant. A 150 watt pendant should be sufficient.

Agree. But I would say go with a 250w. You could keep anything then and they are only $5-10 more than a 150W. The only issue that could arise is heat. Just put a fan in your canopy. I would definitely not get a 400W.
