I was searching the archived messages for tips on battling cyano, and spotted a message that stated

Do you feed frozen brine shrimp? Brine is known to cause water quality issues if fed over a long period of time.

I don't feed frozen brine shrimp, but do breed about a liter of brine shrimp and feed those to the tank about once per week. Could that cause problems with PO4 and cyano?

dont know but the frozen brine was making a lot of waste cause its so fine so i cut way down and started feeding freeze dried brine and myst instead seemed to help the algae quite a bit

FYI, I just tested my latest batch of Brine Shrimp. After 3 days of grow out, PO4 is off the chart (and not in the unmeasureable direction either!!)
